Character development is one of our core competencies. Have you ever considered the condition of our country or our world through that lens? There are so many things that are fundamentally better than how things were just 50 years ago. But despite great progress, we still face significant challenges. How are we to move forward to face these challenges? How do we combat uncertainty and doubt?

Well, the answer is complicated. Education and technology are sizeable pieces of the solution to many of our societal challenges in our country. We have access to more educational resources than any other generation that has ever existed. And, thanks to technology, we have immediate access to information. But where will we be if we fail to consider how education shapes character?

But, what is education and how can we define its advancement? Education involves the transfer of information. Yet, the most important question is not, “How do we transfer information?” The critical question is ” What information is most valuable and necessary?” We have to look at an education’s end result. How will education be beneficial (i.e., a future-focused education)? How will this transfer of information affect change now and later on down the road?

Education is now a standard and compulsory part of American society. Many great things have come out of this institution. But there are also many complex challenges we now face. This is part of the reason why we have started Rebuild Education. The purpose of our non-profit is to equip students with certain core competencies. One of these core competencies is character development. We face so many challenges in life. A primary tool to help prepare students and develop character can be grade school education.

Education is an amazing platform. Training children at a young age allows the establishment of a solid foundation. Our goal at Rebuild is to partner with schools, parents, and churches (the faith community) to help weave together vital, core values. Our focus is “making education matter, now and in the future” by rebuilding the educational blocks of grade-school learning to include life preparation and development. We are excited to embark on this journey and hope that you will join us. The stage is set and we are excited to see all that will take place through Rebuild Education.
